On 30 January 2004, the State Bank of Vietnam had Official Proposal No. 83/NHNN-CNH submitted to the Prime Minister for approving the establishment of Vietnam National Financial Switching Joint-Stock Company

On 17 February 2004, the Government Office had Document No. 710/VPCP-KTTH, informing the Prime Minister’s approval for the establishment of Vietnam National Financial Switching Joint-Stock Company and authorizing the State Bank of Vietnam of the establishment of the Company

On 09 June 2004, General Assembly of founding shareholders of the Company approved the Charter on organization and operation of Vietnam National Financial Switching Joint-Stock Company

On 09 July 2004, the Company was granted the License of payment business No. 06/NHNN-GP by the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam

On 14 July 2004, the Company was granted the Business Registration Certificate No. 0103004894 by Hanoi Authority for Planning and Investment

On 09 August 2004, the Company held the Opening Ceremony

On 05 September 2005, the Company was ratified by Vietnam Bank Card Association to be an official member of the Association on Decision No. 310/2005-HTNH

In 2005, the Company focused on establishing infrastructure and technological facilities required for setting up the switching system

From April 2006 to April 2007, the Company was building Banknetvn Switching System;

On 21 April 2007, Banknetvn Switching System was officially launched, connecting the first 3 banks: BIDV, Vietinbank and Saigonbank.

On 27 November 2007, VBARD was officially connected to Banknetvn Switching System

On 17 January 2008, ABBank was officially connected to Banknetvn Switching System

On 03 April 2008, MHB was officially connected to Banknetvn Switching System

On 09 May 2008, Habubank was officially connected to Banknetvn Switching System

On 23 May 2008, Banknetvn was officially connected to Smartlink with 5 banks in this phase, including Vietcombank, VBARD, BIDV, Vietinbank and Techcombank

In September 2008, VRB was officially connected to Banknetvn Switching System

In the first quarter of 2009, Banknetvn completed the connection to 2 more banks: ACB and Oceanbank

In July 2009, the connection between Banknetvn and China UnionPay (CUP) was officially launched

On 13 August 2009, Western Bank was officially connected to Banknetvn Switching System

On 06 November 2009, PG Bank was officially connected to Banknetvn Switching System
