Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group made Decision No. 625/QD-TCCT/HDQT dated 6 December 2007 issuance on establishment of Hanoi Telecom Services Company. Under the Decision, Hanoi Telecom Services Company is separated from Hanoi Post Office (former). After more than half a century of establishment and development, from the date 01.01.2008, Hanoi Post Office (former) was officially split into two new legal entities; they are Ha Noi Post Office (new) and Hanoi Telecom. This is the result of innovation in organizations in Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group under the guidelines of the Government on the organization of model group and split the post and telecommunications, to facilitate the mutual development of posts and telecommunications and timely adapt to the competitive environment and integration. According to the Decision of VNPT, Hanoi Tetecom is a subsidiary of the Group, operating and running business for telecommunication and information technology sector.
