Instructions to perform transactions via Banknetvn
Processing flow of a card transaction is basically as follows:
1. When a cardholder inserts card into ATM/POS, cardholder is asked to enter PIN for verification. After PIN verification, ATM generates a request for cash withdrawal, balance inquiry, mini statement, ect. as per cardholder’s request.
2. After the request is sent to the Acquirer, the Acquirer forwards the request to Banknetvn if the card belongs to banks of Banknetvn system.
3. After receiving the request from the Acquirer, Banknetvn, basing on the card number, forwards the request to the Issuer.
4. Basing on cardholder’s request, the Issuer checks information and responds to cardholder’s request.
5. Banknetvn receives the response and forwards to the Acquirer.
6. Basing on the response, ATM/POS dispenses cash or performs the request.
The above diagram clearly describes the processing flow of a card transaction. All data transmitted on the communication line is encrypted. Specifically, PIN is encrypted immediately after it is entered into the terminal and re-encrypted on the communication line. Therefore, card data is always secured when being processed via Banknetvn switching system. Besides, from the beginning, the function of automatic refund to customers when errors occur is built up by Banknetvn. Online file reconciliation system is also built, enabling banks to send and respond to complaints regarding card transactions to cardholders promptly.
B. Instructions for services on Banknetvn Switching System
1. Performing ATM transactions
On ATMs, Banknetvn Switching System supports the following transactions: balance inquiry, mini statement, fund transfer (within an issuing bank) and cash withdrawal. In order to perform transactions on ATMs connected to Banknetvn Switching System, take the following steps:
+ Insert card into ATM
+ Select your language (Vietnamese or English)
+ Enter PIN
+ The screen displays account types, select default account
+ Select the transaction you wish to perform
+ Do as instructed on ATM
2. POS transactions
On POS, Banknetvn Switching System supports the following transactions: Purchase, balance inquiry, Refund and Void.
a. Purchase
+ Cardholder swipes the card, the terminal displays transaction types
+ Select Purchase
+ Enter transaction amount, confirm transaction amount and then press Enter (OK)
+ Enter PIN, then press Enter
+ Get the receipt
b. Balance Inquiry
+ Cardholder presses Menu and selects Balance Inquiry
+ Swipe card through card reader
+ Get the receipt of account balance
c. Refund
+ Cardholder swipes card, the terminal will display transaction types
+ Select Refund
d. Void
+ Cardholder swipes card
+ Press Void or select Void from menu
+ Enter receipt number
+ POS will display the amount according to the receipt number. Select “No” if you don’t want to perform void transaction, select “Yes” if you have other requests
