INSTRUCTION FOR USING BANKNETVN SWITCHING SERVICES

Banknetvn Switching Network has officially gone to live since 21st April 2007 bringing convenience and easiness to ATM cardholders. So, what facilities and services does Banknetvn Switching Network bring about? This article will provide customers with detail instructions for using Banknetvn switching services.

I. What is Banknetvn Switching Network?

Banknetvn Switching Network is a network established to connect and enable Vietnamese banks to share each other their ATM/POS systems. The established switching network can process basic functions of a shared national financial switching network, including: switching card transactions, doing clearing and settlement for card transactions, and other related value-added services.

To put into specific words, thanks to Banknetvn Switching Network, a cardholder owning an ATM card issued by any bank connected to Banknetvn Network can perform transactions on any ATM/POS of any other banks participated in Banknetvn Network. At present, cards issued by 3 banks, namely: Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Vietnam Commercial and Industrial Bank (ICB), and Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SGB) can be processed on any ATM belonged to these three banks. The dimpliest signal to let a customer know that an ATM has been connected to Banknetvn network is Banknetvn logo stick on the ATM.

II. Types of ATM card can be used on Banknetvn Switching Network 

Notes: when a new bank is entered to Banknetvn Switching Network, list of ATM cards supported on Banknetvn network will be updated.

III. Instructions for using services supported on Banknetvn Switching Network

1. Manipulations on ATM

The hereinafter ATM-based services are supported by Banknetvn Switching Network: Balance inquiry, Mini statement, Funds transfer (within the issuing bank) and Cash withdrawal. To perform a transaction on ATM connected to Banknetvn Switching Network, please manipulate by steps as follow:

• Insert card in ATM
• Select language (Vietnamese or English)
• Entry PIN
• Various types of accounts displayed on the screen, select “Default”
• Select type of transactions that you want to carry out
• Perform the transaction as instructed on the ATM screen

2. Manipulations on POS

On POS, the hereinafter transactions are supported by Banknetvn Switching Network: Purchase, Balance inquiry, Refund and Void.

a.      Purchase

• Customer to wipe the card, types of transactions are displayed on the screen
• Select “Purchase”
• Entry the amount of transact, confirm the amount then press “Enter/OK”
• Entry PIN then press “Enter”
• Take receipt

b. Balance Inquiry

• Customer to press “Menu” and select “Balance inquiry”
• Wipe card through card reader
• Entry PIN
• Take receipt printed with the account balance information

c. Refund

• Customer wipes the card, types of transaction are displayed on the device screen
• Select “Refund”
• Entry the transaction amount, confirm the amount then press “Enter/OK”
• Entry PIN then press “Enter”
• Take the receipt

d. Void

• Customer wipes the card
• Press “Void” or select “Void” from menu
• Entry receipt number
• The amount is displayed on the POS screen as the amount specified in the receipt. Select “No” if you want to cancel the transaction, select “Yes” if you want have another request.
• Entry PIN then press “Enter”

• 24/24 hour Customer Care Center of the issuing bank (name of the bank is printed at the back of each ATM)
